WHY: San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chairman Greg Cox
will welcome home the bell that once rang at Chula Vista’s first schoolhouse.
Lost to history for more than 40 years, the bell was found by Chairman Greg Cox,
a lifelong Chula Vista resident with a passion for local history.
Along with the Chula Vista Heritage Museum, Chairman Cox has worked
diligently to return the bell to its rightful home, and will formally present it
to the City of Chula Vista.
