BACKGROUND:
On April 29, 2003 Chief Probation Officer Alan Crogan announced his intention to retire from County service on or about July 5, 2003. The San Diego County Charter provides that the Board of Supervisors appoints the Chief Probation Officer, subject to confirmation by a majority of the judges of the San Diego County Superior Court. Respectfully submitted,
GREG COX
